Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her music online including her self-released single Bound. The song Sweat it featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to work in conjunction with Rihanna. It was announced on the 8th of December that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance for J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to guest feature on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video came out on the 5th. Her second single Grampa on November 9. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles entitled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. She was featured with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16and later released the song in a solo version for the album she released her debut. The track was launched with a music video posted on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first 7 days. She was part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
